Sin’s Delight

The brilliant blue sky was freckled with white clouds high in the sky. Sin leaned back. The warm sand felt like tiny pin pricks along his spine and shoulders but worked wonders on relaxing his exhausted muscles. He breathed in deep and the comforting smell of salt reminded him how far he had come to be laying under the sun on his beach.

The memories came to him like photo’s in an album and despite the lack of wind and the heat of the sun, Sin shivered.

“I did what was required of me. I bet and bluffed, and played my cards the best I could. ” He said in a whisper to the ocean. He would have added ‘and look where its gotten me‘ but then again there were worse places than a private island.

When the rays of golden sun finally dried the last drops of salt water on his skin he rose from the sand and trekked the slightly worn trail through the sparse tropical forest to his island home.

It was a small home compared to the size of the island where he spent most of his time. Along the trail he found a wild flower. A splash of royal purple mixed with sapphire blue among the sea of emerald green plants. It was beautiful. There was only one other thing he had seen in all his long years on earth which surpassed the beauty of this flower. It pained him to pluck the rare find from its home but he did and he carried it gingerly between his calloused fingers.

Sin approached the house, but didn’t enter. His destination was on the opposite side of the house, close to the southern facing beach. He was light on his feet as he decreased the distance between him and his target. He wanted to sneak a glimpse of her in calm serenity.

She was lying fifty feet off from the corner of the house in a hammock under two tree’s overlooking the beach and the ocean. Not even the flower compared to the beauty lying under those two tree’s. He didn’t remember turning his lips up into a smile, but his subconscious knew his hearts desires and took care of those subtle nuances. He approached her, taking care not to wake her till the moment was right.

He slid the velvet pedals of the flower over the exposed skin above her chest. Tracing a random pattern across her skin, knowing she would try to imagine what it was he was spelling. She always guessed and she was always right. He never did have the heart to tell her the message wasn’t purposeful.

“A heart with an arrow through it?” She guessed, right on cue.

“Yes my love.” He kissed her, letting his lips linger softly against hers when he was through.

“Are you going to join me?” She eyed the available space next to her.

“No. I don’t think I will. I have other plans.” Her eyes shot him a questioning glance the moment before Sin lifted her into his arms. A sound half way between a giggle and surprise escaped her lips as she playfully kicked her feet.

Sin retraced his steps to the house and through one of the opened glass doors all the while she tempted him with kisses along his neck and soft bites on his shoulders. Without a word he set her on the gray-green slate counter in the kitchen and kissed her passionately.

Breathing heavily she looked up into his eyes and asked “You sure you have time for this?”

“Yes.” Sin said, without looking away from her intoxicating amber eyes to check the clock. The world could wait.
